Countdown: 5...

Only five days to moving day. I'm remarkably well organized with regards to making all the arrangements such as flight, car rental, shipping, organizing movers and cleaners, etc. But I'm still further behind on my packing than I'd like to be.

At least it seems that way.

It might be misleading. Every time I get up to put some stuff in a box, I find one thing that needs to be packed and five things that either need to be tossed or given away. Tonia's coming over tomorrow and we're going to go through everything and take a whole bunch of stuff down to the dumpsters out back. I think I'll feel MUCH more organized and further ahead once that's done. There's so many bags and box and things in here that are just stuff I'm getting rid of...it's cluttering things up and making it look like I've got way more to do than I really do. I'll be glad once all that is out of the way and I can just put the rest in a box to go to storage or a box to go to Nova Scotia.

I was supposed to give the rats to their new mommy, Anne, today, but we had some very heavy snow this morning so I postponed till tomorrow. Poor little guys are out of food though, and I didn't want to buy more till I'm on my way to Anne's. So they're getting fed treats today...cheese and yummy things they love. Nice way to spend our last day together. I'm going to miss them.

Finally got through the laundry I've been avoiding for eons. It was only four loads. I don't know why I avoided it for so long. So now I can pack clothes to take or store and that'll be one big job finished today. I'm going to do the rest either tomorrow or Tuesday, as pretty much all that's left is stuff I need to use till moving day.

My staff took me out for lunch on Tuesday. That was really nice. Even the new guy came along. We had a pleasant time together. I'm not sure if most of the rest of the office realizes that Monday is my last day. Even my own boss came to me on Friday and said he thought that was my last day and was sheepishly asking if anyone had made any plans for a goodbye something. I told him the girls took me out, but that I wasn't aware of any other plans. I'll probably end up leaving quietly tomorrow with hardly a word from anyone. Typical. I've never been the type of person that most people make much of a fuss over.

Anyway...I'm just filling space now. Will try and write again tomorrow to keep the countdown going.

Ciao for niao
