It has begun

It's November 12, more than six weeks from Christmas, yet you'd think it was tomorrow.

I went to Walmart today...probably for the last time before the dreaded day. The place was fully engaged in the Christmas spirit. They even had the obligatory screaming children. Oh, but wait...they always have those.

Even so, I doubt I'll be back there before we're safely ensconced in January.

I made up for the coming drought by spending $238 on odds and ends. Got a top and pants, some Crystal lite (my new drink of choice). Some towels, sheets, a nice fleece-covered body pillow (I've developed a liking for holding onto something when I'm going to sleep...almost bought a big stuffed tiger instead!), the Ratatouille DVD, a couple of music CDs...Pink and Cat Stevens... a whole buncha stuff. It was fun!

And even after all that, it was only 5:30 when I got home (I'd left work at 5, feeling sleepy). So now I'm sitting here feeling, as I thought I might, a little at loose ends. Enjoying some red wine and some of my PVR'd tv shows (gotta love PVR). Going to go to bed as soon as Heroes is over, snuggle with my new body pillow, read for a while and get a good night's sleep. Also going to take Friday off!! Have a nice three-day weekend...and will probably do that for three or four weeks until I feel like I've caught up with myself again.
