It's official - I'm not going to Halifax till the end of January. My VP has approved my late arrival and I have put in my notice to vacate with my building manager.
This is going to work out well, actually. It started out as a bad thing, but has become a good thing. December is not a month that it's good to try and get stuff done, especially not when there's a five-day business trip stuck in the middle. Now I can get ready at a more realistic pace while giving me more time to train my replacement and to help out with a few projects in January.
I'm preparing everyone to expect that I won't be available in my usual capacity (for the most part) during January. I promised my VP and my project manager that I'd start working on the project after the new year. I'm not really sure what I'll be doing besides research, but next week's meetings in Halifax should solve that mystery.
So...now I just have to make sure my place stays tidy for the next two months for the potential new tenants the supers might be bringing through! Ack.
